Retiree's room opens

A special new room for Joint Board retirees has opened at the
headquarters' building, manager Leslie H. Calder announced.
Calder said he hopes the room will become the focal point for many
retirees' activities, both formal and informal. A special club for
retirees is also being formed. Calder has asked a task force of
retirees to decide what the club should be and how it should operate.

4th Quarter, 1988
Conference studies major issues
The Joint Board's sixth annual Leadership Conference explored a
number of major issues affected the Board and its members.
The topics dominating the agenda included Workers Compensation,
escalating health care costs, substance abuse, grievances and political
action.

Local 14-A elects new shop reps
Local 14-A members working at Xerox have elected two new shop reps.
They are Ross Clark and Doug Roemer.

Clark, who began work at Xerox in 1977, will represent workers
in portions of Building 200. Roemer, who has been at Xerox 16 years,
will represent members who work in the CRC, portions of Buildings
209 and 311; and portions of the Commerce Drive warehouse.

Buffalo workers get job guarantee
More than 300 Joint Board members working in the coat department
at Hartmarx' Goodell Street plant here have ratified a two-year
contract extension that brings them job guarantees over the term.
It also helps secure work for members in other operations at Goodell
Street as well as those at the company's Elmwood plant.

SHHC medical director retires

Dr. Robert Burton

Dr. Robert Burton, who created and guided the Sidney Hillman Medical
Center, has retired as the Center's first - and only - medical director.

4th Quarter, 2003
Local 3-T affiliates with Joint Board
Unite Local 3-T and its 260 members who work in Rochester at Schlegel
Systems have affiliated with the Board, manager Gary Bonadonna announced.
This latest affiliation brings the number of new members added to
the Board within the past 12 months to 1,700.
