Retiree Eligibility Summary For Health Center Benefits
The following chart shows information for people who work until
retirement.
This summary is not a contract or binding agreement; it is a summary
of benefits and services as or January 1, 2003. The availability
of and access to certain benefits may vary depending on your employer
and your location. Please refer to the full
benefits booklet for more complete details, or contact the Health
Center.
Note that ALL retiree benifits are based on the member
having at least 10 years of credited service.

Exception: Benefits for a retiree's spouse are dependent
on the spouse's age, except spouse is not eligibile for "RETIREE"
benefits until the member is.
If retiree dies, the surviving spouse continues to receive
Sidney Hillman Health Center benefits at applicable level above
If worker dies before retiring, the surviving spouse continues
to receive benefits for up to one year from the date of the member's
death. When the worker would have been 62 and if the worker would
have been eligible for retirement benefits and had at least 10 years
credited service, the surviving spouse may resume Health Center
benefits at the applicable level. If the eligible surviving spouse
remarries, the new spouse is not eligible for any Health Center
benefits.
